Our Family support service is available to all families and our workers' main role is to support families in their role as parents. This could involve: - Informing you about Sure Start and helping you to access our services
- Supporting you around children's routines and behaviour management
- Offering emotional support at helpful times
Families can get involved by contacting our outreach staff and managers or via your Health Visitor or Midwife. A member of the team will then be allocated as your key worker where a home visit is arranged at a convenient time to draw up an agreement of assistance required. A written record will be kept and reviewed throughout this support. If you would like to access this support, please contact Julie Ayre, our Children's Centre Co-ordinator on 01670 822714.
Central Locality Sure Start Children's Centres are committed to providing all families with a new baby visit at their home or if more convenient at the Children's Centre, after receiving information of your baby's birth. Our Family Support Worker will contact you offering you a visit. This will last approximately 30 minutes when she will let you know how the Children's Centres can be of assistance and the activities that happen inside them. She will talk about home safety, sleeping arrangements and other baby related information. If you feel that you need to speak to a member of the team before then, please do not hesitate to ring your nearest Children's Centre.
