Parent Groups
Parents have a voice

Our partnership with parents is key to our work and the Parent’s Group is one of the several forums in which you are invited to come along to share in talking about the running and direction of the centre.

4Dads
4Dads_logo.jpgThe 4Dads organisation has a very user friendly website that you may be interested in browsing to find out current information about their activities, photos and feedback. The address is www.4dads.org.uk

The monthly Dad's Saturday drop ins are very varied, interactive and promote parent and child time together. The sessions happen at Bedlington and jointly Morpeth and Pegswood every month and activities have previously included fun with food, messy play, stories and book making, seed planting and outdoor play and games.

If you'd like to know more about these sessions please contact Claire Donnelly on 01670 822714.

Friends of Bedlington Nursery

Choppington_Sponsored_Walk.jpg

Parents and their children joined Children Centre staff on their annual sponsored walk around the school field.  The children were very enthusiastic and excited about the fact that they were "making money".   The sponsored walk raised £216 for Barnardos, so well done to everyone involved, great effort!  Staff were really pleased how well the walk went and hope to top that target next year.

This group of nursery parents were established about three years ago. Their aim is to add value to the nursery curriculum by fundraising and involving the wider community. They have successfully fundraised to buy extra equipment for our nursery children in the past and more recently have successfully received £10,000 via the Big Lottery to build a pond near to the Bedlington Centre.

PEACH - Parents Equally Achieving Children's Happiness
Peach_logo.jpgOur Peach parents group meet fortnightly on a Monday morning at Choppington Children's Centre. The group has been operating successfully for the past three years and have secured voluntary sector funds in excess of £20,000 to organise and facilitate year round holiday activities, trips and parties.

For further information please contact Julie Ayre Children's Centre Coordinator. Creche is available for these meetings so children enjoy our nursery space whilst parents enjoy a cuppa and a chat planning fun sessions.
